Hollywood, CA- John Hughes has been hired to direct a new teen comedy based off the Loren Feldman and Shel Israel feud.
“We feel that this story lends itself perfectly to a film about high school conflict. On the one side you have the one straight guy in the drama club in Feldman. You know the type. The guy that is cool in his little circle but in a larger context isn’t,” says Tim Johnson VP of Development at Tri-Star. “Then we have Shel. You know the geek that probably has a girlfriend that he made up that lives in Canada. That is where the conflict is going to come from. Loren is going to steal Shel’s fake girlfriend and all hell will break loose.”
Tri-star has fast tracked this project. Jason Biggs has been pegged to star as Feldman and is already preparing for the role, “I’ve already shaved my head and started smoking 15 packs a day, and I’m going method with this.”
Christopher Mintz-Plasse is currently in contract talks to star as Shel Israel. Other casting rumors include Chris Burke as Robert Scoble.
Johnson believes that this story has potential, “Honestly we haven’t seen high school conflict done so well as what has transpired between these two alleged grown men. It has really inspired us to act quickly and get this to the big screen.”
No word if Verizon V-Cast is going to carry the trailer.
