Not everyone will travel the same path when it comes to going for business or employment. Decisions may have been made long before they are actually needed such as in the case of those who stand to inherit a business empire. Majority will discover in time what opportunity is presented to them based on the preparations made in education and work experience as well as the real desires of the heart.
How to Determine One’s Choice
A person can determine which way he or she is headed by considering these important points:
1. People made for business are generally more of risk takers than their counterparts in the employment sector.
There is nothing sure about doing business in terms of income and the actual work that has to exerted. Employed people will know the duties and responsibilities they are expected to perform and the amount of pay they will get on payday. If you are the kind of person who feel secure in getting pay in a scheduled period without fail and would rather perform only the duties assigned to you, then you are for employment. If however, you are not limited by the idea of a scope of work and are fairly comfortable with taking chances when it comes to earnings, then the business world is calling out to you.
2. People made for business are fairly more flexible with their time compared to employed people.
The employed sector has a definite time schedule for work which is usually from 8 to 5. It is a fallacy that business people have more time in their hands. It is just that they can be more flexible with it since they can adjust the time they wish to operate in accordance with the nature of their business. If you cannot imagine yourself extending time for work, then the business world isn’t for you.
3. People will choose what they like to do, given the option.
Not everyone will have a business empire established by their ancestors waiting for them. Neither will everyone have the capability and willingness to climb the corporate ladder towards top management. Given the option however, people will choose according to what they want. It is a fact however that many are caught doing business or being employed because they are not presented with any other choice.
It is not uncommon for people to shift from doing business to employment and vice versa. Sometimes, people need to go through the process before finding out what they really want. Come to think of it, no time is wasted if people learn from the experiences they go through and apply it to their final choice.
